Gather

Basics

Use the Gather action to:

tell Tidepool about new places to look for photos,
find recently added photos

Paths are the various locations on your hard drive where photos are permanently stored. You can add multiple paths — sometimes convenient to add your existing photos one folder at a time while doing the initial tagging.

We do not yet support gathering from removable media (memory cards, CDs, etc.) or cameras directly.

Things you can do with Gather

Add Path	Use this to specify new locations.
Change Path	You can edit an existing path if you made an error, or the path has changed.
Remove Path	Delete a path from the Gather locations — it has no affect on your photos.
Gather from Paths	This instructs Tidepool to read your photos and show them in the viewpane.

In future releases, we will further automate finding your photos, moving photos from (for example) your memory card to the hard drive, and so on.
